Doesn't sound very efficient. However any random chunk of a conductor will
work as an antenna at all frequencies.

It's like any antenna, only different.


It is a lot bigger than most antennas.
418mhz =418 milliHertz= 0.418 Hz (MHz is MegaHertz)
Wavelength is 718000 km ;-)
