I suggest you publicly crosspost his name, callsign (if applicable),
address, and phone number and start a flaming thread exposing his nefarious
deeds for all the world to see, threaten his dog (or his family if he doesnt
own one), threaten litigation and report him to Consumer Affairs, Postal
Inspectors, the Better Bidness Bureau, Ebay Complaint Dept., and his local
Chamber of Commerce. Acquire an anonymous account and manufacture posts and
emails to discredit him, then go online to a background checking service and
get any information available (driving record and credit reports) and
crosspost that to various related newsgroups with a link to a blog website
where you can copy and paste all of your past communications and insults and
dirty information and link to them accordingly. Oh, and be sure to include
his full name in the header subjects of your flame posts so that a Google
search will bring up all of the information and retain it for years to come.

See if he ever sells scratched merchandise again!

I bought a Drake R7 a few years ago on eBay and the guy told me it was
mint.
Upon opening the original box I discovered a small hairline scratch on the
 bottom plate.

Whatever should I have done? Used a less powerful magnifying glass?

 Your input appreciated.
