The TRW [now Northrop-Grumman Space Technology] is stil around - on
the last Saturday of each month so this will not work for Russ on this
weekend. There are Ham Radio Outlet stores in Burbank and in Anaheim
and Jun's Electronics in Culver City. I only know of one electronic
surplus outlet, ALL Electronics which I recall being in Burbank - been
there once and it wasn't worth a return trip for me, nothing I
couldn't get elsewhere or via online ordering.

I suggest you may have more fun by spending part of the afternoon in
Venice (in between LAX and Santa Monica) and take a walk along the
'boardwalk' (improperly named as it is concrete) and enjoy the
outrageous people. You'll find all sorts of colroful folks hawking
anything from sunglasses to magic beans, perhaps see the chainsaw
juggler and see body art that could make you cringe. It is an
interesting study in sociology and you can enjoy today's clear skies,
warm temperatures, ocean air and thong-clad SoCal beauties.
