I have had the 898 for about six months...........good radio. This radio has
much high I.F. gain in the AM mode than previous units. It also has dual
bandwidths for NBFM modes, so it will be good for the new splinter frequency
assignments.

I should have said I was looking for a base. That is a good price though
on the PRO-97.
Thanks,

Consider the new GRE PRO-97, sold at Radio Shack @ $199.99. In addition
to doing with the BC898T does, it also has alpha-tag display, so you can
assign text labels to your frequencies.

I would like to buy a new scanner that does military aircraft band and
has selectable AM and FM on all bands since I like to listen to the
military. Would this scanner be a wise choice?

Would that be a good one or might someone have a recommendation? I
would like to stay around $200.
I am pretty sure no one in my area uses Trunk Tracking, but that could
always change.
Thanks,
