You could always parallel-feed from a choke, and isolate the IF transformer
from DC with a cap. This would provide a much nicer environment. Then if
you had to you could build big boxes to put the transformer and bypass stuff
into, and it'd even look right.

You can use the little Toko types without any problem, honestly, but
they don't look right unless you use submini tubes, of course.
