Greetings

Well this message is partly about digital misc and partly about me.. I hope
you will excuse the lack of complete compliance..
To help you answer my question, a little about me..
I got my licence in 1964. at the age of 16...same call sign since..
Hams made the change over from am to ssb during the 60's. During the early
70's, hams made the change from local hf to vhf and vhf am to fm...
Then came packet during the 80's...

I left ham radio, without really knowing it, during the mid 90's... I just
realised I was not on the air...

Now comes my question...

Where is ham radio going now?...

Not wishing to seem less than helpful, but that is a GOOD question,
exploding in various unfocused direction is perahps thefairest answer

I don't know how I got there but I found myself on the arrl website reading
something about digital audio on hf.. apparently you can now put an audio
bandwidth of about 10 khz onto a 3 khz transmitted bandwidth.... sounds, no
pun intended, interesting...

Lots of stuff can be done but not sure you can find another to dance
with, unless you like talkingto yourself

Can someone give me a website that can more, or better, explain how the
process is done?

Does it cause any kind of distortion on the transmitted signal?...
