any good remedies for dial string slipping on tube receivers?
thanks jack
The common cures:
1. Make sure all the parts are turning smoothly.
2. If it uses a tension spring make sure the cord is adjusted correctly
to where the spring serves its purpose in maintaining the correct tension.
3. If its the type of drive where the cord does several laps around a
small shaft, make sure that its clean and not gummed up.
4. Cord could be worn out, glazed over so-to-speak.
5. Apply some rosin (music store) or even smear some contact cement
(lightly of course) to the string as a temporary fix.
