I've had to clean mine a few times, and this has restored proper operation.
Assuming your relay
is not damaged, you may want to try cleaning the contacts. I use a small
piece of copier paper, and slide
it between the contacts. You may have to put some slight pressure on the
contact mating surfaces so
that the friction with the paper burnishes the contact surfaces.
If the paper comes out with a dark streak, then you have removed carbon from
between the
contacts. I've had it come out streaked, and clean, but both times it
repaired the relay function.

Does anyone know where I might find a replacement for
the OMRON relay in the TS-820? It is not the antenna relay
but the one which switches the IF and other circuitry between
transmit and receive.
