I'm sorry, did I get the attribute(s) wrong. I thought you, Brian,
mentioned about the yiddish wine. The fact that Mogan David makes a
cheap wine, and cheap is the operative word seems obtuse to the
discussion you are having with the other people.
How that can be construed as a rescue attempt should be left for those
that can actually see the writing between the lines

No...You got the attributes correct.
Brain just can't stand to have his errors pointed out or
corrected, and unfortunately he provides so many of them that need
correcting.
Also, he tends to "hang" with a less...uh..."reputable" crowd, so
when he sees yet another person redressing his mistakes, he just digs
in for more of his antics.
