I often listen to WNYC 820 khz am around 4:00pm. That is about the
time that NPR (National Public Radio) comes on.

I've notice that in the last year or so, WNYC 820 khz does not come in
as clear as it use to. I've tune into the station from different
radios and locations. Even a friend of mine in Brooklyn tells me the
same thing.

On top of which, WABC 770 khz am is extremely powerful. I wonder if
that's the problem.

If your in the New York City area, try tuning your radio in the 800
khz am area and post your results here.

Danny Styles in coming on now on the radio. LOL!

SR 73!

I live in the SW corner of Michigan, nowhere near NYC, of course, and it
is one station I have never logged here. However, the most recent
listing I have for it shows it's output power to be 10kW day/1 kw night,
so that doesn't suprise me. I can, not infrequently, get WBAP in Fort
Worth listenably, and that's almost 900 miles from here - but it is
50kw, and that's the difference.

But - and this bugs me - the only 50kw NYC station I can get listenably
well most nights is WCBS (820).

Oops! WCBS is 880, of course.
