I have a military radio and I need to get a power supply to charge the 12V
battery. The manual says to charge it at 1A for 5 to 6 hours. Does this
mean that I have to buy a power supply that has a variable current control?
The battery is a lead-calcium.

Thanks,

Rod

Lead-calcium are used in rc models, among other things. You could try a
model store and see if they have one grunty enough for you.
