From what I remember
101 had nasty drift problems, HV on the PCB often burned up
101B same set improved
101E speech processor added downgraded to crummy plastic switches
101EE less speech processor
101EX less speech processor, less inverter for 12volt mobile TX operation.

Id say find a nice old B
