I bought a new Uniden BC 895XLT scanner. To use it in Austin Texas, It is
supposed to pick up Austin Police. All I can get is a loud "buzzing" on
their channels (900-T channels). The reciever is a "trunk-tracker" and is
for CTCSS opereations. I asked the police comminications officer about what
kind of signal they use and they refuse to tell the public. Im a retired
fire man and they have no low here prohibiting my listening.

Please, does any here have any kind of idea of what kind of signal Austin,
Texas uses and if my new Bearcat BC 895XLT
is capable of working with their local signals.

I have the book but cannot make it work on the local police radios. It
works great on other police and fire calls.
