Default Yaesu Miniature Mobile Radio - Model No.?

Yaesu produced a very small dual-band mobile radio for a while. As I
recall there were some heat issues with it. The radio was very tiny.
About half the size of regular mobiles. Anyone remember the model
number?

It's the FT-90R. I have one, and yes, they have some heat problems, but
there are also work-arounds for those problems. It seems the problems
go away somewhat if you never set the step size to 5 KHz. Also, I
mostly operate it at 20 watts rather than 50 watts.

That said, I find it to be a great rental car radio, I have the cord
wired to a heavy-duty lighter plug. I pack it in a small camera bag in
my suitcase along with a mag-mount when I fly somewhere, and I'm usually
on the air before I leave the rental car lot. With the software from RT
Systems, I already have the memories set up before I leave home.
