Receiver is a Grundig Mini 300 w/an attached telescoping antenna . . .

Being a newbie, I was unaware that the receiver made any difference in the
frequency the broadcaster was on!

I don't see a Spanish broadcast on that frequency. Might be some kind

false signal on your portable. Listen on the hour and se if you can ID
the station. You may find it is really on another frequency.
