Yes, that's understood. We are searching for more RAM for the laptop, and
perhaps you overlooked the statement in the original posting:

This means no virus scanner or preloaded stuff in the start group or
"run" in the registry. (I wont type the whole key) Might even be worth
wiping the current build, installing W98 from scratch and then doing all
security (only) updates.


That's been done, already.

It will not be used for web browsing. Packet & logging, that's all.
