Look around you : the most reliable cars are japanese or korean
(5 first, even before Germans)
This is certainly the first time I've heard Korean cars
described as reliable! They are getting better, however.
Certainly, when they first came to the States, Hyundai
was the laughingstock of the automotive industry.
I base my opinion on the last car magazines "Car of the world" and alike
that sorted cars according various criteria, sales, problems/reliability,
customer satisfaction, etc. I didn't said that ALL JA or HL cars were
perfect, or I should...
I base mine on Consumer Reports magazine, which surveys
owners of vehicles sold in the United States and tabulates
the results. According to them, two Hyundai models have
now reached "average" reliability. KIAs have been
universally awful. Of course, Daewoo doesn't exist
anymore, but, when they did, were also universally awful.
