Default Repair of PRO-97 ?

where r u 1st?

TBH its not a diff job to try and fix
it's a shot to nothing
i usually get a small diameter box spanner or pot runner or even an old key
with a hole up the middle.
pull off the knob on the bent shaft.
slide it into the tool
& gently bend it straight works most times

else it's a spare part job.

I need to find someplace where I can get a Radio Shack PRO-97 repaired.
This unit is only about three months old and suffered an accident.
While on vacation I shipped it in my luggage. ( I was concerned about
the airport security reaction to a scanner.) Although well packed in
the center of the bag we encountered some severe turbulence. Something
hit the volume/squelch control and bent it about 15 degrees off
vertical. Although the volume and squelch movement are locked
together, the unit works OK. There is no other damage showing except
for the bent control. The volume/squelch unit needs to be replaced. I
am reaching out for guidance because I don't have much faith in the
technical competence of the local stores. Of course I expect to pay
for the repairs.

Thank you,

Stan Hanna
