Two good DX buddies of mine have the ALA 1530 and I have the DX 1.
I think (biased) that my DX 1 has the edge, but note it must be carefully
mounted according to the instructions.

However, the ALA 1530 is much more flexible in it's use. It can be casually
mounted in your apartment room without fuss, or in your loft and still give
good results. Of course it will perform even better if mounted high outside
on a rotator. The rotator is necessary as it is directional on the lower
frequencies.
Other DX friends have upgraded from the ALA 1530 to the ALA 100 and claim
better results still.
