Looked in the manual and it indicates that you should never recharge
the batteries in any other way than indicated, ie, in the radio with
their power-pack, etc!

Anyone heard of this before, there were the batteries that were included
with the radio, green eton NI-MH 1100! Guess it's time to go to ebay
for another!

Jim,
If the radio is rated for the type and voltage of the batteries you
installed in it, then the batteries are not at fault. Your problem lies else
where.
