Several people have suggested Navy RB* radios. This thing has a grid cap
and the Navy Radios have single ended tubes. The Bendix MN-26 was also
suggested-- still looking for pictures/docs on that to check. Stamped
in the aluminum is a small square with SC in it (in the C22 adjust hole).
I think that means "Signal Corps."

Some information:
4 adjustable caps. The cover plate slides to give access
4 adjustable coils, opposited side from caps
Grid cap on top.
Hole for pass through selector shaft.
5 ceramic pass through solder terminals on the back.

Today, I noticed this item on Ebay: Item number: 160037504145

If you look at the images in my links and the top photo here, you will
see that what I have is the RF stage for the WWII Bendix RA-10
direction finder.
