While I do not know what frequency you monitor uses I do know that in my
neiborhood most of them seem to on the 49mhz band and have surprising
range. When we last used a baby monitor in 1996 - 1998 we could hear up
to 3 different ones on the monitor itself. At about that time I got a
ham transceiver which had coverage of the 49mhz band and found that with
my 50mhz directional antenna (6 meter band) I could hear baby monitors
from almost a mile in all directions, as well as the older 49mhz
cordless phones at almost the same distance.
What people don't understand is that these devices radiate a pretty good
signal than can be heard a long way with the right receiving equipment.
Very old cordless phones operating in the 1.7mhz band could be heard at
astounding distances.
I would guess that you have a neighbor whi is in fact recording your
conversations and the baby crying and transmitting them back.

Hello group and thanks for any help you can share
We have a basic baby monitor set up in the nursery and the extensions are set
up in our bedroom and the livingroom.
Twice now we have clearly heard transmissions of our baby and our own
conversations that occured 15 minutes earlier.
This morning my wife and I were standing in our room WITH the baby while we
listened to him crying on our monitor and her going in to get him which
happpened about 15 minutes ealier. Very odd to me.
How is is this possible? Is this possible?
It was definately not some other picked up transmission from the neighborhood.
It was like time delayed transmission.
Very curious.
This also happened once before
Thanks for any help. Im very curious how this is possible
