The HE-10/KT-200 was my first "ham receiver" back in the
early 60s. I'd rate it one step above the S-40, but that isn't
saying a whole lot 
That is interesting. Are both single conversion? I know that the
HE-10 has IF Gain control and ANL, it is pretty sensitive and
selective on the BCB.
I finally located a KT-200 after a few
years of searching for one to relive my novice year. Alas,
the chase far out did owning one.
