I hope so. I'd suggest packet because it allows one to compose messages
before actually getting on the air (much like email) and your friend is
computer literate.

My late father had the same problem: he could think as clearly as ever but
there was a disconnect between what he wanted to say and what came out.
However, he could often get the right word eventually.
