Default bits in FM transmission

If you want a prebuilt solution, check out linx technologies. They
have some simple chips and modules to start off with.

If you want to design it yourself, do a search for OOK (on-off keying)
transmitter and receiver schematics.

A link to get you started:

Hi.

I am am totally new in FM electronics, so I need a guiding hand
(advice).

I would like to build a small transmitter that would send only a few
bits, ant then a receiver that will capture those bits on the other
side.
The usage would be similar to those wireless doorbells. The difference
would be only in that I want to assign a unique code to be transferred
so the receiving station would know who was the sender.

Can someone suggest me some book or Web site where to find more
information on how to build those devices. (are they maybe available
to buy?)

Thanks.
