Pandora Teams With AT&T
SAN ANTONIO -- November 9, 2007: Pandora, which offers customized
Internet radio based on listeners' artist and song preferences, is now
available on eight AT&T wireless phones, for $8.99 a month after a
five-day free trial.
Pandora creates personalized streams based on a single song or artist,
then lets the stations be refined further with "thumbs up" and "thumbs
down" ratings for each song. The phone version's functionality is
similar to Pandora's free online offering, with pause and skip
functions and onscreen artist, song, and album info.
"Pandora allows our customers to access their customized radio
stations wherever they are, without the need to carry an extra device,
and that provides the ultimate convenience," said AT&T wireless unit
VP/Consumer Data Mark Collins.
Pandora founder Tim Westergren said, "With this launch, AT&T and
Pandora are continuing the ongoing expansion of Internet radio across
all forms of listening."
