I just finished removing that attenuator. Now, there is only a 3dB
difference between the MW range and adjacent ranges. This would make sense,
since Varactor diodes don't have quite the Q that the other filter ranges
would have, with their silver mica caps. It's definitely much better now.

range. That's why when you tuned from 600kHz to 599kHz the signal came up.
It's because of the 5dB attenuator. Out it goes!
