Default Dot And Star Frequencies ?

Robert11 wrote:
Hello,

Live outside of Boston.

Have come across some frequencies that (just) say:

Red Dot
Blue Dot
etc.

And also some that say:

Red Star
etc.

What are these, the Dots and the Stars, please ?

Thanks,
Bob

They are industry-accepted designators for a series of frequencies
generally used by licensed low-power business radios. Often when a
business user purchases handy-talkies for, for example, use at a
construction site or in a store, they will come pre-programmed on one or
more of the dot frequencies.

Some of the most common ones a

Channel Frequency, MHz
Red Dot 151.625
Blue Dot 154.570
Green Dot 154.600
Purple Dot 151.955
Yellow Dot 464.550
Brown Dot 464.500
"J" Dot 467.7625
"K" Dot 467.8125
Silver Star 467.8500
Gold Star 467.8750
Red Star 467.9000
Blue Star 467.9250
