Have come across some frequencies that (just) say:

Red Dot
Blue Dot

Red Star

What are these, the Dots and the Stars, please ?

When radios for job sites first came about, you still needed a license, but it
was commonly ignored.

To be sure that Joe Dolt got radios that worked together the manufacturers
devised a simple system.

Red Dot 151.625
Blue Dot 154.570

so if Joe Dolt went to Grainger and purchased 10 of these and told them he
wanted them on the Red Dot, they would all work together.

Most of these were single channel units like the Jobcom units.

A complete list is he

Now days most of the Jobcom units have been replaced by the Motorola XTN units
with 15-30 channels or illegal use of FRS and GMRS radios at businesses.
