I have a BC-669-C and power supply that is marked in French both inside and
out, it came to me from a seller in France and was used by their army in the
artillery support role. Not sure if the French replaced the original
markings themselves or if the makers in the US lettered them up for overseas
orders. My set was made by ERL but has a Hallicrafters control box.

Can't add much, but I remember seeing a BC-603 receiver with a similar
nameplate, though I can't recall if any of the other markings were in
French.

He asked if I knew anything more about this. I thought I toss it up to
the Usenet crowd. Note that there aren't the 3 holes under the
nameplate, so this is probably a whole new front panel.

For a radio designed in 1936, that's pretty long life.
