I assume the transparencies should be printed backwards so the printed
surface can face the mounting material.
Don't think that would be a problem, since it's a simple matter to
'mirror' the image before printing, or even in the print queue IIRC.
Just did some experimentation.
First, I cropped out everything but one meter shot (did this for both
meters). Then, I made sure that the size matched the graticules on the ruler
in the shot. Next, I turned off the color rendition in my photo app, and
mirrored the image so that the printing would be on the back side of the
transparency when attached to the meter face. I ran both of these to my
laser printer and printed them onto transparencies. Of the two, the one
where the color had been removed from the original turned out better, with
much less background clutter from the original color scan.
If your original meter face is indeed ~60.8mm, I can send you these
transparencies and you can see if they suit you. If so, I can have you scan
the dial(s) and e-mail those to me, and I can do the same for them, and send
those to you, too. Please let me know.
