FS: A very unique Tempo One (FT-200) XCVR

FOR SALE - One Unique Tempo One
I have a Tempo One, formerly owned by Penn Clower (W1BG). It is a very
nice unit, with unique and very useful mods, ALL expertly done.
1. SuperFuse - After a burnout of the transformer, Penn decided to
design a circuit that would prevent any failure in the transceiver
from burning out the transformer again. He individually fused the
600V, 300V, 150V and -100V lines, and added neon lamps in parallel
with the fuses. If a fuse blows, the lamp turns on, triggering a
photodiode to cut the AC, then pulsing at a very slow rate, cutting
all voltages in about half. The SuperFuse is described the October
1982 CQ magazine (copy included with radio).
2. In SSB mode, there is a 2.7 Khz audio lowpass filter to cut down on
hiss. In the CW mode, there is a 1Khz lowpass filter. In addition,
there is a 800 Hz bandpass filter, turned on by pulling the ANL knob.
(ANL functions as normal for SSB and AM).
3. Selectable AVC.
4. The CW level control is moved from the rear to a concentric control
in the Mic. Gain position (dual pot). He used a matching concentric
control knob.
5. The VFO has been adjusted for a maximum error of 500 Hz across a
band.
6. The 6U8 in the RF amp section was changed to a 6EK8 to take
advantage of higher gain up to 10 meters.
7. The 6BM8 audio amp tube has a heatsink/clamp to both help keep the
hot tube cooler, and reduce microphonics.
8. All mods have been documented (schematics and notes) with the
manual. Addditional memo from W1BG, and copy of CQ article included.
9. A spare Tempo One and PS is inclulded.
I used the transciever a couple of times, and it worked for me.
I am looking for $250 for the whole set - The UNIQUE Tempo One and
Matching PS (With SuperFuse) and PS cable, and a SPARE Tempo One and
PS (w/ PS cable) for parts.

Hi
I saw your add and was wondering if the transceiver and related items
are still available?
