I moved to Utah (Pleasant Grove) about 8 years ago. Yes, the Redwood
Drive-in is still there, though I have never attended a show. I don't know
if they have a swapfest - I should look into that. I used to do the 40
mile commute from Pleasant Grove to Salt Lake and would pass by the theater
regularly. I did a quick search online, and the theater was renovated in
2004.

You'd hardly recognize the area if you came back to visit. Draper and
Riverton have exploded. Draper homes now extend a good ways up Point of
the Mountain, and all of Traverse Ridge is fully developed. (There are
also three LDS temples on the south end of the valley to give you an idea
of population growth.)

I know what you mean about the growth. The entire area where I lived in
Riverton is gone, replaced with a high-end housing development.. even the
elementary school has moved. About the only thing I recognize in town
anymore (looking on Google Earth) is what used to be the Peterson's
Supermarket.

Found this about Redwood Drive-In:

Redwood Drive-In: 3688 S. Redwood Road, West Valley City. This popular
six-screen theater, known for showing first-run double bills and its huge
weekend swap meet, is the only remaining drive-in in the Salt Lake Valley.
According to Drive-Ins.com, it opened in 1948 and underwent a complete
renovation in 2004. For movie information, call 801-973-7088. Tickets are
$7, $1 for kids up to 9.

And this:

SALT LAKE CITY - - SAT & SUN

Redwood. Redwood Drive in Theater. Hours 8am-4pm. Ample parking. Adm charge
