for sale real good shape $285.00

----------

How is the audio output and modulation, Jerry?

Tubes okay?

Ed, N2ECW

The TS820s is from an estate I do not have a mike for it. There's a
tag on the back that reads cleaned, lubricated, tubes tesred $475.00

The reason I asked is because the TS-820S is known to have an irreplacable
IC that is used for audio/modulation. Should that chip fail, the radio then
becomes a doorstop because it is unrepairable.

It would be good to know that the radio is functioning before selling it,
lest you end up with a life long enemy instead of a satisfied customer.

Hi Ed,
Actually, you are incorrect telling folks that the TA7201P
Audio Chip is irreplacable.. There are at least a few thousand chips
available that I know of that are OEM Toshibia and can be had for
under 10 bucks US... Of course, you will have to do your own homework
finding them.. However, right now on Ebay, a Brit has 10 for sale at
around 25.00 US each.. While pricey (IMHO) This should satisfy at
least the folks that need this chip right away.. The Ebay URL is
http://cgi.ebay.com/TA7201P-Integrat...3286.m20.l1116

What it comes down to is this.. Just because you read something cannot
be had, don't believe it.. You just gotta search in all the nooks and
crannys you wouldn't normally, and you may be surprised what you
find.. I hope this helps, Best Regards, Tony, WB8MLA near Cleveland,
Ohio USA
