For those enamored of Hugo Chavez....RADIO NACIONAL DE VENEZUELA,

Prime Time Shortwave doesn't list any English freqs. except in 49
meter band, so this 19 meter sched might be easier.

Sorry abt approximate freq, was listening on trusty 1963 transistor
Royal 1000D-1 Transoceanic.

Does anyone know whether or not ALL of Venezuela's transmissions come
from Cuba?

Are there any from Venezuela proper that we can aim at?

Most international broadcasts come from Cuba.

That's what I assumed. I was just wondering if there was one that
actually came from Venezuela.

With comrade Hugo always trying to get a bigger role on the world
stage, I thought he might have gotten around to setting up an
independent facility. Perhaps if oil prices rise.

There are some domestic Venezuela SW stations.

4939V Radio Amazonas, Puerto Ayacucho is one.

Unfortunately, I can't really hope to catch those here. And even if I
could, a catch is all they'd be, as I don't speak Spanish.

It seems to me there was at least one higher powered international
broadcast from Venezuela but I'm not having any luck finding it right
now. They are in a good spot to broadcast to the USA but maybe using the
Cuban facilities was easier and cheeper.

Seems to me that recently I've heard something about a new SW facility for
Hugo's broadcasts being built in Venezuela.

I found some links stating this but they seem to be over a year old so I
wonder if it still happening.
