Default About exciting passive circuits and magnetrons.

You maybe knowing your microwave's inner workings.
It uses a microwave valve which consists of LC chambers of 2.4 GHz.
And they are excited with a dc hv of must be 50 Hz.

Now we have two possibilities, the output is in trains or constant rf
output.

Who of the hams here can messure that output ?

The transformer has a core bypass to handle the reactive load. There is
a power rectifier and a capacitor to (somewhat) smooth the 1KV output.
Still, magnetrons are sensitive to the cathode volts they see, so the
output varies somewhat in frequency and amplitude at line frequency.
