Fantastic! *Nice work! *Didja talk to him/her? CW or phone?
Worked him phone at 1357UT. He was running 200 watts to a SteppIr
vertical out at the water. It was after dark there and operator John
was amazed at how good propagation was to US.

SE Asia is usually pretty decent for us statesiders that time of day,
though...it's the only time when I am reasonably assured of hearing
the little Indonesians and PNG stations, plus Laos, while the sun is
above the horizon. It's the 14 MHz that gets me though - maybe better
for you at that time, but still early for us west coasters. In any
case, nice work!

Thanks,
Did not have that luck this morning. I could hear the DXpedition on
Con Co Island, Vietnam. 3W6C. Same time frame. He was about an S7 but
he was operating split frequency on 14.205 with transmit frequency
10-20kHz up AND he was going by number worldwide.
The one time he finally got to the 8 call some stupid US hams were
fighting on the frequency because someone was not operating split.
Plus, the operator was having a hard time. It was taking him sometimes
7 or 8 tries to get a call right. By the time he came around again the
window had closed.
Well, it was fun hearing a station in Vietnam or at least off the
coast of Vietnam. Supposedly, there was a secret military base there
during the war. QRZ.COM has details if you enter 3W6C.
