Desert Car Kings on the Discovery channel, 1964 Barracuda, they were
touting that push button shift transmission. So what? Pust button shift
transmission dates wayyyyyy on back to the 1920s, or earlier.

Seems little difference in pneumatic solenoids, electric solenoids, or a
manual shifting lever in engaging and disengaging gears in the drive
train ...

Push button = vacuum shift ... I believe it was an old plymouth I had
which had those push buttons ...

In the big rigs I drove, with 21 speed road ranger transmission, it was
a little bitty switch on the gear shift with kicked in under/and over on
each main gear engaged with the gear shift ... sure beat the old 4x4 boxes!
