stripped & tinned in a solder pot. Standard transformer wire for that
company at the time, as it saved time in production. Have a word
with your local transformer company or stockist...

Most of that wire needs around 400 deg C of heat to melt the insulation
for soldering. Way too much for circuit board work.
I bought some wire off ebay that was listed as solderable insulation.
Found out after I tried it that it required 390 deg C to melt the
insulation from the wire web page.
They list that type of wire as something like 155 deg C wire, but found
out that is the rated working temperature, not the soldering
temperature.
