Well, I'm sure that in some ways that have nothing to do with amateur
radio, Kim is a very nice person. So, if you ever do meet her, try to

keep
that in mind, and not the fact that Riley Hollingsworth once said that her
choice of a call sign had the potential to take the ARS "...one step
closer to extinction."

is that a true story? or did he say callsigns LIKE hers (without nameing
hers specifically) were potentially harmful? Just curious... talk about
being (in)famous.

When I first saw the callsign, I must admit I thought nothing about it
until I found out that the person who owened it was a woman. Seriously;
call it male chauvanism, or bias, whatever, but I literally only say
"kilo 5 tango india tango" when I saw it... but when I learned of the
gender of the owner, something clicked in me mentally and caused
me to re-assess the callsign.

The only thing that it DOES bring to mind, now, is the constant question
of whether or not she chose it because she's female and nothing more,
OR, if it is because she is female "and THEN some", if you get my drift.
I have never had the nerve to ask her a beavis and butthead question,
no matter how much it has in fact been going through my very
barbaric, primitive, neanderthal mind.

Where's my club?
