Mostly before my time, but an amazing fellow by all accounts. He was 85.

It should be remembered that he was doing his thing mostly solo in a small
sailing craft back in the days before modern aids like GPS, solar power, solid
state radios or even electronic depth finders were common. Had to have been
quite a sailor as well as radio operator.

Most of all he was a true DX pioneer who left a legacy that will be remembered.
