Greeting!
I am having problem tuning my new Butternut HF9V vertical on 17 meters.. My antenna is ground mounted 60 feet from the house or anything else. I have 40 radials surface mounted just under the grass... The swr on all the other bands is about 1.4 to 1 or less, but on 17 meters its 2.4 to 1 causing my ft-847 to fold back power.. Though! the high swr, I am still able to make contacts to Europe and other DX on the band with little effort with less than a 100 watts... I do have a MJF-259 analyzer and still have problems.. I have spent hours at attempting to get a lower swr Any Help would be appreciated Thx in advance ` 73 WA3YMM |

What does the MFJ-259 say the 17m impedance is looking into the feedline. How long and what kind of feedline? -- 73, Cecil http://www.qsl.net/w5dxp -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |
