wierd wire on my hands

Hi,

I've presently installed the best antenna that I could. I made major
miscalculations on my layout.

Turns out that maximum height of trees and building is 20 feet.
Balcony
rail height is 12 feet.

The best I could presently do is make a balanced wire in the
horizontal plane.
It is basically a dipole whose endpoints are 15 degrees apart rather
than 180.

Length of one arm is 40 feet, the length of the other arm is 45. It
is number 30 kynar insulated wire supported by 12 inches of nylon cord
at at each end off balconies across the lawn. Altitude is 12 feet. I
am in a desert climate,
violent weather is almost unknown except for 2 months out of the year
where we have monsoons. By my experience, number 30 wire is too thin
for the air to push very or to be affected by the rain.

I think this will have to be a receiving wire, i don't believe I have
the necessary take off angles for dx.

Any suggestions for improving this situation?

Thanks,

The Eternal Squire

'Squire,
I think you may be correct, but don't 'rule out' the antenna for
transmitting yet. While the 'take off angle' may not be the 'best'
in the world (?) it certainly doesn't make your antenna 'deaf' (or
'mute', as the case may be)...

An inverted-L would probably work a lot better than that 15
degree spacing.
