Not if they started with number 2000 !!



Serial numbers often start at arbitrary values, I'm not sure why, but
some manufactures seem to like to hide production numbers.

Its simple. it is done to keep your competition from knowing your
real market share, and the uninformed to think you were more popular in
your market. OTOH, I have seen single & double digit serial numbers on
equipment, including a RGB video switcher for a DEC minicomputer with
serial # 00001. Ch 55 in Orlando had serial #16 LaCart Video Automation
system at their transmitter site when I worked there, 20 years ago.
