Excellent condition 1946 book. Many very useful circuits - not just a theory book. Actually details Knight Kits from 1946, including full schematics and parts lists. Full details at above link. Thanks for looking! |

Hi Bill - Ebay postings are in fact IN the charter for this newsgroup. If
you don't like them, you should learn how to use your newsreader filters so you won't be 'offended'. But flaming people is actually a VIOLATION of the group - so really, you are the one who is sort of 'out of synch' Email if you have questions, Oren "Bill Turner" wrote in message ... Those don't bother me, although I prefer to read editorials and essays on boatanchors as well as technical tips. All, take a close look at what bill wrote. He is saying that he had a stroke and that is why he is writing short replies in caps. Mull that over, short terse replies, kinda outburst-like, he's asking for people to cut him some slack while he recovers. Yeah, I can understand that. Good luck on your recovery, bill!!!! I remember when kh6ij had a stroke in the 1970's and came on frequency, it was a long slow recovery and painful to listen to. Good luck bill, speedy recovery!!! de ah6gi/4 heathkit fixer groups.yahoo.com/group/codenocode --- flame site www.kiyoinc.com/heathstuff.html --- boatanchor site "Bill Turner" wrote in message ... Actually, the charter won't say anything about Ebay. Boatanchors was created back in late 1995 or 96, which I thought predated Ebay. There is an archive of newsgroup creation messages at ftp://ftp.uu.net/archive/usenet/control (at least for those newsgroups created after the archive was started) and one can see the creation message for boatanchors he ftp://ftp.uu.net/archive/usenet/cont....boatanchors.Z It seems later than I remember it being created. I remember the discussion. There was concern that if ads were allowed, the newsgroup wouldn't be carried by some sites, a reflection of the non-business roots of the internet. But unfortunately, some whined that buying and selling was integral to the hobby of old equipment, so ads were decided to be on-topic. Note, however, the line about The newsgroup, rec.radio.amateur.boatanchors, is primarily for discussions of topics related to classic amateur radio gear. And note that when it goes into detail about what's on and off-topic, mention of ads is pretty far down the list. In other words, ads do seem to be allowed, but it sure wasn't the intent when this newsgroup was created that ads be a significant amount of the traffic. Note that we often see off-topic stuff discussed and forsale here. A TS-830 is hardly a boatanchor, not in size/weight, age, or makeup. ONce it was decided that ads do fit in here, sadly then we get completely off topic posts, because people don't care when they sell things, so if they see ads it's okay to sell recent equipment, computers, audio stuff, and even guns. I don't differentiate between forsale ads and Ebay ads in discussion newsgroups. To fuss about it seems to ignore the very fact that ads don't belong in discussion newsgroups. What clearly does seem to violate the intent of the charter is someone posting multiple posts the same day, treating this as a buy and sell newsgroup rather than a discussion newsgroup where incidental buying and selling is permitted. There is a big difference between someone who is here and discussing this neat old equipment, and happens to offer some old piece of equipment, and someone who comes here merely to sell their stuff. So what exactly is stopping you from posting your
wonderful discussion material? I have not seen a peep of it. Personally, I am able to ignore things I don't like. But you apparently don't have that skill? I don't get it... Quitcherbellyaching and: a: Learn use FILTERS. Block the words Ebay and FA and then you can sleep at night, without all that nasty intrusion. That will make it so you 'see no evil'. b: Start posting all your wonderful discussion material. I'd like to read some of it, but I have not seen ONE POST by you. Your ONLY additions to this group are BITCHES. c. Start a JJ newsgroup and you can Lord over it. George Bradley Salt Lake "JJ" wrote in message ... You are all a bunch of ****ing whiners. Ebay is here to stay,
and JEZUS - didn't ya notice that a LOT of people post ads? And what about the FOR SALE ads? You don't bitch about those, now do you! Go take your old man pills, park your big old ass in the recliner, and turn off the Web TV. It's too much for you, clearly. Either that or learn how to use your newsreader FILTERS and protect your baby eyes from the evils of Ebay ads. God forbid you ever get a Spam for Paris Hilton!!! It's a ****ING OLD ARGUMENT. It ain't 1997 anymore!!! I am MORE SICK of these arguments than the damn EBAY postings! Get a life "JJ" wrote in message ...
