Maybe so, but it's something you could probably use to expand your
horizons.....and you might even learn how to spell, too.

If NPR's nothing but left wing crap, why does the nutcase left scream
about it selling out to evil capitalist corporate AmeriKKKa and kissing
George Bush's butt?

Seems to me that any organization that gets a negative response from
the lunatics on both the left and the right has to be doing something
right--and NPR's drive time news shows are now the second and third
most listened to national radio programs. Only the bloated dope addict
has more listeners.

So what's all the fuss at Clear Channel about suddenly providing 40-50
minutes
per hour of commercial-free content, then?

It's not a new concept.

And it's not a "fuss." It's simply worthy of notice in the trade and, to a
minor degree, of interest to the general press.

Karl Haas is neither left nor right. He's dead, Scott.

But he's not NPR, anyway.

*Played* Wagner. He's dead.

And technically, he wasn't NPR. His show is syndicated by WCLV, a
commercial classical music station in Cleveland. Yes, "is." He'll
live forever on the radio.

Indeed...as Steve might point out, Karl Haas used to work for WCLV, the
for-profit classical station in Cleveland. The shows heard now (and just prior
to his death) are repeats, as Dr Haas retired several years ago, figuring he'd
pretty much done a treatment of every sort on the music played for the program.

And that's the problem....we "lefties" know that there are two sides to every
story, a job which NPR does extremely well (and results in charges from both
radical ends of the political spectrum that they've gone, or embrace, the "dark
side"). In this regard, I fear, the right has managed to repeat this
misrepresentation often enough that it's taken root as an urban legend.

Remember what Himmler said....

Disagree, it's very educational and their stories are very interesting.
They do have a slight slant to the left but it is better than listening to
Hanity (AKA "Baby Jesus") preaching about how bad pre-marital sex is!
