![]() I certainly agree with you! I've been away from 11m for a few years, but often listened to shortwave (75m), and you've summed it up perfectly. I figure, the populus goes where the conditions (skip) allow the best, and thus, you get the ultimate sampling of the personality of most people out there. I grew up on walkie talkies, and then my first CB radio in the mid 1960's, so at least I got to experience a time when communications were decent! |

I doubt any licensed amateur would care to use any echo as it simply degrades your intelligibility. I've run across a few lids, but *very* few. None on 75 or 160. 73 from Rochester, NY Jim AA2QA |

Most of the jerks I've heard on 75 meters were former CB'ers though. Sad but true. 80, yes, 75 no. 75 meters, to me, implies the bottom end of the band where ssb and am cannot legally go. The cw folks are a great bunch and I've never heard a problem there. 73 from Rochester, NY Jim |

Most of the jerks I've heard on 75 meters were former CB'ers though. Sad but true. Odds are most of the hammies on hammie radio today are former cb'ers. Nothing sad about it. If it wasn't for cb, hammie radio would be dead. CB is where the hammie radio participants originate. |
