I am looking for the HOST MODE guide for KAM XL. Does anyone know how to
obtain a copy. Kantronics is giving me the COLD SHOULDER. They sent me one
several years ago on the KAM 5.0, but they must have changed company policy.

Thanks again Hank, yes I did get it and ... well unfortunately I have this
copy. Copyright 1995. I am specifically looking for a newer copy of the
document.
They may not have published one. I am sure they have updated some of their
commands ... especially for APRS and other newer modes.

I talked to Matt May who was going to forward my request to the CEO, but
that is as far as it got. There is some 'agreement' he had mentioned, and I
am more than willing to look at it, provided they allow me that 'honor'.

It seems more and more companies are closing their doors to programmers.

If they won't send you the documentation, there is the time-honored
technique of reverse engineering: monitor the serial port while running a
host-mode application. I'll be happy to send you a copy of PortMon should
you need it.
