Usually, autopatch privileges are limited to members of the club that operates the repeater. You key in certain tones (via your radio's touch tone pad) to bring up the autopatch and dial the phone number you want. At the end of the call, you key in other tones to disconnect the patch. Each repeater uses unique tones (which are usually changed periodically). Contact your local clubs for information about joining and/or using the autopatch. BTW, a handheld radio may give mediocre performance unless you're close to the repeater. What's Norcross? Art Harris N2AH |
