I am looking for the complete set of codes that are sent to a Racal
RA6790/GM receiver via its stock GPIB (IEEE-488, HPIB) port. $02F12.12345 changes the frequency of number 2 receiver (set with dip switch next to the GPIB socket on the receiver) to 12.12345 MHz. The manual found on the Internet discusses the use of a serial port. Google pointed to a site where a 232 to 488 converter was used to control an earlier model of receiver that contains a GPIB module. Some of those codes do work with the RA6790/GM. Pointers to the information will be appreciated. 73, Mac N8TT -- J. Mc Laughlin; Michigan U.S.A. Home: |

Mac, there's about 13 pages in the manual about this (the later versions anyway pp 3.34 to 3.47). I'm sure Gary will be only too happy to sell you one of the reproductions he does... 73 Dan ac6ao |

Dear Joe: My ISP had a serious problem with the news server and only this
afternoon have I been able to get to this group. While my ISP's server was down, I was able to read a slightly garbled copy of your helpful message using Yahoo. Unfortunately, E-mail addresses were smeared. So, I did a Google search for a "Gary" who was associated with RACAL, and eventually had success. I asked Gary about the 488 codes and, a few days latter, he sent me a well formatted list. I intend to exercise the codes as soon as I get a break and then get back with Gary to confirm/expand on the codes. This is a long way to say thank you to Joe WA9LAE and to Gary. I also thank Dan Rae who noted that some of the manuals contain the information. 73, Mac N8TT -- J. Mc Laughlin; Michigan U.S.A. Home: "Joe" wrote in message oups.com...
